I am a dreamer and it’s common knowledge that I always have been.
I can perfectly remember day-dreaming in school about my future life with books everywhere in my house and creating things for a living – apparently I have not changed a bit because I still dream about it.
Dreams helped me settle goals – I dreamt of being a paid creative : I’m being paid for being creative everyday.
I dreamt of taking lettering classes, I made it happen – I’m happy I took the time to do so.
Dreaming is desiring something good (or even better) for yourself. It’s allowing you to be more positive.
Having dreams motivates you to dare to go beyond yourself to get what you want. What’s wrong with that ? Yes, exactly : nothing.
You tried but failed ? Get up. Try again. Don’t be afraid of failure, it will stand in your way and make your life much harder. Embrace your fear. Widen your vision. Failure make you progress. As an old poster which is going around on Pinterest says : Strive for progress, not perfection. It’s one of my life motto.
If people do say that your dream is unrealistic, just prove them wrong. You’re strong and you will get what you want. Ask them what are their dreams. Maybe they don’t have one because they are scared.
Don’t be afraid of having big dreams and ambition. You should never be ashamed of your ambitions. I can’t believe it’s a bad thing in 2014 when someone has ambition and people are saying ‘this person is bossy’ only because she DARED to settle for something bigger than others.
Dream big, accomplish something you’ve wanted to try for years. Start with a small thing, and then dream bigger. It’ll make you feel good and I’m sure your loved ones will be proud. I know mine are proud of me, and you know what? I’m pretty proud of myself.
