My soul is full of longing for the secret of the sea, and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me.
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
When I came across that poem written by the great Longfellow, I felt like it was written for me. I don’t know why I enjoy the sea so much, perhaps it’s because it’s in my blood or just because I was used to it as a kid since we always went to Soulac-sur-Mer or La Palmyre.
This lovely summer was filled with traveling for me. I went to the seaside twice and my third destination was the woods in the Landes.
The first time I went in July was at the same place I went in 2010, last summer, and last March. I had a great time with Antonin’s family, great weather, even if the heat was dreadful sometimes. We went to different beaches and I was able to relax and just clear my mind. Laughing and swimming, nothing else mattered.
Then, in August I went to Chatelaillon-Plage with my mother for a few days and it was glorious. The place where we were staying was stunning, we really had fun and I am really grateful that I got to spend all this time with my mom in such an astounding place.
I’m sorry if there are too many pictures, I tried to take some out of my selection but I just couldn’t, anyway I uploaded them on flickr. It feels weird looking at these now that the rain is pouring her misery on us, but autumn is coming. I love autumn.
